AFTER YOU ARE SAVED

 

After a person takes Christ as Lord and Savior he or she should do the following:

1.  Make a public profession of faith. Every person Christ called during His earthly ministry He called publically. "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." Matt. 10:32

2.  Follow the Lord in baptism. This order is set forth in Acts 2:41. "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." This order is consistent in the New Testament. It is 1) Salvation by faith 2) Baptism 3) Added to the church.

3.  Attend church services regularly. "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching." Heb. 10:25

4.  Study the Bible daily. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." II Tim. 2:15

5.  Pray every day. "Pray without ceasing." II Thess. 5:17

6.  Witness for Christ consistently. "Go ye therefore, and teach (make disciples of) all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matt. 28:19-20

7.  Be a constant and generous giver. "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38

8.  Go to work for Christ and keep on working. "This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men." Titus 3:8

9.  Trust God for everything. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19

10.  Love your fellow saints. "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." I John 3:11

11.  Sing joyfully. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Col. 3:16
